San Pedro Neighbors for Peace & Justice presents NAFTA and Longshore going South.

On Friday, November 17 Lewis Wright, a member of the International Longshore and Warehouseman’s Union Local 63 will give a presentation titled NAFTA and Longshore going South. He will talk about the growth of ports on the West Coast of Mexico and the NAFTA corridor and the profound affect they will have on the shipping, trucking and Longshore industries in this country.

The NAFTA Corridor is a 2-mile wide highway from Sinaloa, Mexico to Texas, across the U.S. through Kansas City and up to Toronto, Canada.

Lewis Wright is the Chairman of the ILWU Credit Union and a resident of Ensenada, B.C., Mexico for over 20 years. He is a frequent traveler to many countries in South America as an ambassador for Union Solidarity. Lewis has traveled to Manzanillo, Mexico (one of the proposed ports on the West Coast of Mexico) as a representative of the ILWU Coast Committee.
