Peace, education and action in our neighborhoods

San Pedro Neighbors for Peace & Justice is representative of the vast majority of the people in this country who oppose the ongoing destruction of Iraq and Afghanistan and the companion destruction of our way of life and livelihood.

Through a appeal for peace we will work with churches, labor unions, environmental groups, civil rights organizations, civil liberty groups, peace groups and individuals to end all war and demand that human needs be met instead. We will emphasize the immorality of war for the sake of profit. The appeal for peace has the greatest potential to unite people in their quest for a just and equitable society.

By educating ourselves, conducting open forums for discussion, aligning our organization with the broad battle for civil and economic rights, creating a visible opposition to war and by supporting the formation of Peace Clubs at area High Schools we seek to become a powerful, independent force for Peace and Justice. 

Strategic Objectives

1. Assist in the creation of organizations of high school youth as a step toward the removal of any military presence in the high schools.

2. Build an independent, dynamic organization thaat is open to new ideas and people and will sharpen the critique of of this country's ruling elite.

3. As a peace group build specific alliances with labor unions, civil rights groups, veteran groups and any group waging a battle for justice.
